I think that the time you have already spent researching this project is going to save you lots of headaches as you start the hands on process. Keep up the good work.
I do have a concern with welding the drop center (widowmaker)wheels. Do a bit more digging into this. Grigg wrote a tech tip about wheels and that will give you more information.
