gazim, you have guessed right,"ford" I'm building a 56 f100 panel. A guy I work with gave me a 72 c10 that was pretty much scrap but had a good motor that I could use to power the old Ford, not having a power plant and since I am basicly a GM guy any ways I said why not. After stripping the old chevy down and checking out the frame I decided that I could make it work, at first I thought that it would be cheaper than going the mustang2 in the original but now figure that it would probably be about the same but the c10 started out as a truck and not a truck with a economy car suspension.So that is why I registered here as cheford. Now back on track, thanks all for your explanation for the origin of the stovebolt.
