For what is worth, I have a 52 with a 56 235 in it. I swapped out the old Rochester for a Carter YF2100s. It a good upgrade to the system. One note. When I ordered my remanufactured carb I had to give them the old carb as a core. When I got ready to mount it, it didn't have the cable attachments. Much to my dismay, if you find the brackets they don't come cheap. So my advice is do the swap, but keep everything you can off the old carb. As a side. From what I have read here shop around for your new carb. I ordered my Carter YF2100s from NAPA and it cost me 450 bucks. They can be had for much less from other sources, good luck.
