If you search here and in the hi po forum you'll find numerous threads dealing with issues around this swap.

Steering interference is definitely an issue. Moving the box out away from the frame is one approach. Some specific exhaust manifolds are said to work but I've never tested that. The rams horn manifolds I expect you have aren't likely to clear.

The S-10 year should be a workable option. The stock rear will not be.

You can buy engine and transmission crossmembers that should simplify the swap.

Make sure your brakes will stop it!
