Helping a buddy with his '39 firetruck.
Truck has a '58-'62 235 in it now. Water pump shot craps. Waterpump pully, Dampner, and Generator ALL have wide belt pulleys. I think during the swap, maybe they pulled all three off the original 216 and put them on the 235? Not sure why.
Anyway, being somewhat anal, I got the (I thought) proper, short-shaft 235 water pump from Patricks. Pump fits fine, but fan does not. The pump hub is 3/4", with bolt holes 1 1/4" apart.
Ordered a fan from Chevs of the 40s, for a 235, but I think Bill there told me it's a 1 inch hub, with 2 1/2" hole spacing.
I've got the proper Dampner coming as well. I'd like to get this thing back together "like it oughta be".
Can someone verify the fan hub and bolt hole spacing on a '58 - '62 235?
