Short water pumps, electric fans......why not fix it right! Buy the adaptor plate, use the correct "early" style waterpump that has the correct diameter pulley, and get your fan centered on the radiator and forget about overheating problems.
I went through "short pumps", electric fans and finally got it right. In addition to proper cooling, you can get a stock early 216-235 pump from NAPA/Azone/Advanced without sitting on the porch, waiting for the UPS truck!
