I have a '63 1/2 ton with a 230, and the rubber piece between the balancer and the pulley disintegrated while I was at the beach the other day. I temporarily fixed it by wrapping duct tape around the outside of the balancer thick enough to slide the pulley on so that it would be able to turn the water pump and the alternator, and I hobbled the truck home on that. The main question I have concerns the interchangeability of straight six harmonic balancers. What will work on my 230? Will a 235, 261, or a 250 balancer fit? None of the guys at the salvage yards around here seem to know anything, so I'd appreciate the help in determining my options, or if anyone has an extra lying around I'd be happy to buy it from you so I don't have to go hunt for one.
