don't dread it, there's always lots of help on tap in this garage
I'd say you're best to go with 12V, not difficult at all if you get a proper repro harness, it's just plug and play [or maybe pray
] the only thing that would need adapting for 12V is a couple gauges, which you don't have anyway, so get it roadable first
