oh, ok,, so no real need for a battery backup huh ? i dont knwo anything about how computer chips work.... i tried getting it apart this morning, but man, that threaded on plastic thing that holds it on the panel is really stuck. the only way i will be able to get it apart will be to break it. i put all the wires back on every gauge, and for now its working again. time will tell, but if it messes up again, i will go with a new speedo and other gauges, but they will be mechanical, not electronic.
