| | | | Joined: Jul 2011 Posts: 36 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jul 2011 Posts: 36 | I have been reading all the door latch Tech Tips. Seems like its an ongoing thing. I bought a new one for my driver side of my 51 Chevy 1/2 ton. The new one seems worse than the old original. After I installed it, the outside door handle is so stiff to turn. It won't even return to the normal position. I cannot even rotate the latch assembly with my fingers at all. Have used PB Blaster and sprayed in it in every place and still not any easier to operate. Door wont lat ch and doesn't seem that the latch assembly even rotates when it hits the striker. Maybe the new latch is a piece of junk from Taiwan like some of the other parts I have been recving with a "made in Taiwan" sticker. Very discouraging! Anyone got any ideas bout the stiff door latch???
