Could also be the tin plate just in front of the flywheel held on by two tangs to the oil pan and two bolts to the bellhousing.If the plate jumped out of the oil pan lip it would make that noise when the clutch is depressed and the flywheel moves forward.Remove the plate and check for rubbing like it was put on a grinding wheel.
