Curve to the back i would think. Otherwise the lip might catch a bit too much air and bend.
You'll be experimenting with optimum height. IIRC the nova one I used was about 4" high.
And kudos to you for doing a little hotrodding and using something it wasn't originally designed for. Don't tell HH. They'll try to market it as an air dam. LOL!!!
