So my 52 3/4ton had a huge stack of overload springs. And since I didn't need them, I took them off. Obviously the U bolts are now way too long and the threads don't come anywhere near close enough to bolt up. So I cut them and was going to rethread them but they're ebeing stubborn and I can't even get the die started! Maybe it's just that the die is worn out, but it's just not working out for me.
SO, the question is, have any of you ever replaced the rear u bolts and put in shorter ones? If so, where did you buy thenm and for how much (btw, I need about 7.5 in length, and the u bolts are 5/8)
OR, maybe someone has some advice on rethreading them?
