Sounds like you're just cleaning up the cylinders and want a little more grunt. I would think that you will do ok with the stock intake/exhaust system. Of coure, all improvements over stock hopefully add to performance but your 292 already has the rep. for low end power. Just remember, "There is no substitute for cubic inches except cubic money".
