Walt, I didn't catch if you have a single exhaust or headers for dual? I have a 54 3100 and I bought the williams headers and exhaust kit from National Chevy......The headers went on fine, the drivers side pipe went on fine...the passenger side pipe coming off the header did not fit, didn't clear the tranny and the angle was pointed towards the ground not out towards the back end of the truck....Called them and they sent out another piece. Still no go...They said they have had issues with the " TRUCK " exhaust. They have a worker with a 54 and they would mock up a set... I returned the pipes, got a refund and I'm going to a Muffler shop to get them done.
