Finishing up the frame off on my '50 3100. I swapped the 216 for a 235 from a 1955 Chevy Belair with 136 hp and originally a powerglide. Pretty much followed the 216 part reuse recommendations in the Tech Tips. I rebuilt the engine and test ran it sitting in the frame. I finally have the body back together and went to drop in the radiator but the fan is too close to allow assembly. I'm trying to figure out what the problem is. I just read a previous post that stated there are 7 different fan blades for the 235. Since all I know is that the fan I have fits on the engine I'm thinking I might have a fan that is the wrong size. Can anyone tell me what the clearance between the fan and radiator is? I keep reading some pretty tight measurements. Any suggestions? Thanks.
