Well thank you for your replies. To update my information a little I have a 65 stepside with a 230 and a spin on oil filter. I was going to look into another filter out of LMC or something just to see if it was any different because right now a regular filter out of the book does not get it done. The gasket on most filters is really not that soft but instead really hard. After all it has to hold back about 40 psi. The face/seat on the block is pitted bad. It would be difficult to clean it well enough for devcon to stick and even more difficult to get it sanded real smooth and in a machined flat finish.

If I can't find a fix for this I am going to a rubber hose and gasket shop here and I will have one cut out of heavy neoprene and see what happens. We have large hose shops in this area that can make anything like that so I am optomistic. Besides its really not a bad leak at all I just want it to be perfect.
