The 1957 Master Parts Catalog may have defined the source of the 1/4-36 threaded carburetor rod on my truck. I think that the rod is Chevy OE, but not correct for my truck.

The '57 MPC shows a 10-1/4" overall length 1/4-36 threaded rod for '55 V8's. Don't know if it would work on a 6-cyl.

The '57 MPC also shows a 15" developed length 1/4-36 threaded rod for '54-'57 6-cyl Hydramatic trucks. (longer than my carb rod)

The '54 MPC shows the length of #3696702 non-threaded '50-'54 carb rod for my truck to be 11-9/32" overall length

The '57 MPC shows the length of the '50-'57 carb rod to be 12-11/16" developed length. Different part number: #3717031.
