First of all, happy to find this forum...already learned a lot, great forum!! So I just purchased a 59 chevy apache which is pretty much stock 235 six but thinking seriously about swapping in a 283 and going auto on the floor. My buddy has a 70 chev p/u with a rebuilt 283/ and turbo 350 tranny...use the power steering etc. This a good candidate? I thought about keeping the six but it making a hollow knocking and they want $1400 for rebuild, I can grab 70 truck for $1000. Any thoughts/suggestions? I think i saw a motor mount kit that goes in the 59 Thanks!
