I got the 57 pumpkin in pieces which is not a big deal the ring & pinion are in perfect shape but the gears that fit on the end of the axels plus the small gears that contact the axel gears have some surface rust on them. I would like to use the axel gears out of my 46 rear end and not bother with the 57 gears. Can I do this? Will the 46 axel gears work in the 57 pumpkin? I have not taken the 46 apart yet but I don't see why this would not work. The axel gears really don't contact/mesh with the 57 ring & pinion. Seems like this should work. Or am I way off base. Thanks George | | |
