For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 9,671 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 9,671 | Has anyone ever figured out the reason there is a thin paper gasket there????? In all the time I've been involved with this stuff I've never heard a definitive let alone a logical answer to that question. There is "NOTHING" to seal there!!! That reminds me of the boiler patch that was on a US war ships steam boiler that the Japanese captured. They copied the design right down to the patch. No need for it on a new boiler but it was there so they just included it in their copies.
