For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 145 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 145 | Truck last ran around new years. Put in new battery this spring as my daughter liberated it for her car.. Currently my only test tool is a lighted probe. When I tried to get truck going now that the snow is gone I thought my problem was not getting fuel .I pulled a plug and could see no spark when turned over.I then pulled center wire from dist. cap and tried it to near ground to see if there was an arc. No arc when I flipped the points open with a screwdriver . The wire to the + side of the coil pulled apart at a connection, I spliced it back ,but, will check it again. My probe lights on the + side of the coil with key on and across the coil. To me the points spring is too weak. I will check all connections Will let you know what happens.Started snowing here again to-day so I am in no rush. Thanks All | | |
