Its not a bad idea to put rotators on the exhaust valves, it makes the seats last longer. I'm not so sure the springs are beefier on the 261- the engines have about the same rev range before the valves float.
Don't expect 9:1 from a stock head unless you mill it a bit. It's more like 8:1.
