Hmmmm- - - -a 60 year old engine with a fresh valve job. To someone who just wants a running 216, it's probably worth $300.00 or so. Completely rebuilt, with the insert rod bearing conversion and everything brought up to brand-new condition, it's worth somewhere in the $1500.00 range.

Finding a buyer who wants/needs one will be the trick. I've got four babbit-pounders ready to rebuild right now, plus a bunch of new replacement parts, but I doubt if I'll build one up until I have a buyer ready and waiting.
