Pulled my '50 engine this weekend (my first engine pull ever) with the help of my brother and a friend (they've got several V8s under their belts). Engine had to be transported 25 miles over backroads and highways from my brother's garage to mine. They thought, like a V8, that the inline 6 would simple sit on a tire and be fine .... not the case, it was unstable and would've tipped over in a second once released from the hoist. We devised
this transport stand out of some scrap 2x10, 2x8, and 2x4 and it worked beautifully without the engine rocking at all on the trip home. Not sure what other people have done or if this might help someone out in the future.
