I'm ready to fit the interior door panels on my '50 3100 and am using the stock replacement door panel from Classic. I noticed that when I install the 2 foam spacers to cover the door control and regulator I still get some interference from the door control. I found this pic in one of the posts that shows a couple of foam spacers to hold the panel away from the door control.

My question is this: Even after installing a couple of foam pads in the same location the door panel does not fit flat. It bulges out from the door control and the foam pads. What am I missing? I've loooked at a dozen pics of finished trucks and found that the panels all look flat. Is this an illusion or should I expect some uneven surface on the interior door panel after the panel is installed. Thanks.
