Several months ago I bought an NOS "Universal Joint Ball" on eBay. I just today tried to slide it onto my 3100's drive shaft tube and discovered that it didn't come even close to fitting.
The Numbers on the GM box are: Group No. 5.564, 1-PT. No. 373526.
My caliper reading of the inner diameter where it is supposed to mount into the drive shaft tube is 1.750 or 1-3/4". The outer ball diameter at its widest point is: 4.250 or 4-1/4"
Can anyone tell what this year of GM vehicle this U-joint Ball is supposed to fit? My hunch is 1930's Chevy.
