Hy pipeliner78, the whole reason we went to a dual system was for safety reasons, if one system failed, the other system was there for backup. Most people feel the dual system is "better" for that reason, and I would never argue with a safety improvement. That being said I don't recall a lot of news reports of accidents do to total brake failure. If you decide to retrofit your truck with one of the dual systems, make sure you confirm what year the equipment is off of, that way you will know how to order parts for it if needed. Take as much of the system as you can tees, lines, valves, even the vacuum lines, you can use this stuff for patterns if nothing else, hope that helps.
