I guess the original 265/283 must have been blowing lots of smoke or something by sometime around 1975 or 1980 and someone updated it with that engine. I bought it in 1989 and at the time it was suppose to be a fairly recent rebuild on the engine.
It was sold to me as a 283. I guess they did not know what it realy was. And I did not either as it looked like a 283 I had in a 1967 Impala as a teenager.
Well I like it just the same. Has been fun to work on and drive around once in a while. Need to get it back together and start driving it again.
