i don't know if i can offer any help but you certainly have my sympathy.
in my 63 to 66 trucks the front window channel can come out with the windwing secion. so you could work on it off of the truck to save scratches. the back and top are a different story and i haven't done them, but i need to. this type of work isn't my favorite, good luck. hr
