I am hoping that some one has their hand brake (same for 1936 to 1946 commercial and pickups) apart and can measure a spring for me. It is the large spring that goes in the yoke and then back to the rear brake rod. The specs for part #477355 are: 11 coils, 2 13/16 inches long (free length) and 7/8 inches in diameter. The one that is in there fits the description, except that the wire size is so large that when compressed to fit the space in the yoke the spring has no travel left. So my hope is that someone could tell me the wire size and the space between the coils. The way it is now, it might as well be a solid block. Any help out there?
