rodtek1, there is a Delco "Mini" version of that starter that is used in various GM applications and has a 4.44 ratio planetary gear set and gives great header clearance. I found one at a swap meet for $20, took it home and relubed the planetary gears, polished the aluminum part and installed it in my roadster. It stays way cooler than the long direct drive starter because it is so much farther from the headers. That improved hot starting. No wiring changes were required.
