You really have most of the work done, if you have removed the front end.
I just got through changing a 1950 235 to a 1961 with a "PowerGlide" transmission. The Automatic is harder to manuever in the space available than a standard . I just unbolt the motor mounts, remove the two nuts which hold the tranny to the crossmember, slide everything forward approx 6 inches, then adjust the lift so the engine tilts up at the front. Takes two people to do the job.
