Just a suggestion. Once you decide what gauge wire and color to use, you need to think about types of insulatiion. They ain't all the same. I use a cross-link polyethylene called 'SXL'. It withstands temps up to 257 degs F and is resistance to moisture and most solvents/oils found around cars. I think...this is the type of wire used in most commercial wiring kits. I get mine from "Del City", but I believe you can find locally at a trailer or trailer supply store.
