| | | | Joined: Jun 2006 Posts: 70 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2006 Posts: 70 | My Classic Parts wiring harness has wiring included for an alternator with internal regulator. Including a jumper wire from alternator BAT terminal to the alternator's internal voltage regulator, and a wire from the voltage regulator through the main connector to the ignition switch IGN1 terminal.
THE ISSUE: My alternator was rebuilt with a self-energizing voltage regulator. No wires are to be connected to it and a rubber plug was included to plug the hole over the two terminals. Literally just one wire from the alternator BAT terminal to the battery.
THE QUESTION: Can I just exclude the wires to the voltage regulator included in the harness? The ignition switch doesn't need this wire from the alternator, correct? | | |
