Hey guys, I have a question or two. I own an auto repair shop and I am thinking a getting a tow truck. I have a tow dolly that is completely worn out and I am thinking of upgrading. Has anyone tried a wheel lift wrecker on a big bolt. I have a '49 6400 that is in rock solid shape. I have seen the slide in pick-up bed style wheel lift setups on ebay in the $3000 range. I thought about converting one to use on my 6400, but they honestly look a little flimsy. Some friends thought I could use dump bed to make a half assed roll back wrecker, but I think a car would sit WAY too high. I have seen some Ford super duty F450 short wheel base wreckers around town and I think a similar sized 6400 would look great. I know a 6400 has limitations in top speed, etc, but I have hauled two tons with this truck and felt confident with the brakes. I plan to tow only in town so the 235 should be fine. Any ideas? I am open to opinions. Thanks guys
