I put Posies dual-flex on my 55.1 3100.
They softened the ride, lowered it just a little, and didn't introduce any bump steer. My fender is 27 1/4 inches from the gorund with 215R75-15 tires and there is 1 1/2 inches of travel before the axle hits the bump stops. I don't know how much of this is applicable to your 55.2, but it's the only set of factoids I have.
