| | | | Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 145 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 145 | Have been working on getting my 46 3/4 ton apart and am almost ready to pull the engine.Just have a couple of questions.Will it be easier to split just behind the clutch and pull the motor (all front body metal and rad is off) and leave trans in place? There is a frame cross member for support at that point. Question 2 is that this truck has an open driveline and a pto on the trans as it was set up as a dump box, did the 46 1/2 tons have an open driveline? This is a canadian built truck so has a chev 216 in it instead of a 228 GM and 4 speed trans. Thanks Murray | | |
