I will most likely put one on the 6v positive ground 270 GMC engine in my COE.
The grounding consideration mentioned by Wrenchbender Ret explained why I often had hesitation at high rpm.
In a 12v 216/235/261 set-up, if you do not have a coil with 3-4 ohms resistance, you are supposed to use the ballast resistor (the Pertronix Flamethrower coil has 3 ohms of resistance).
