i have always loved the sound and performance of an 8, but the straight 6's are just so cool and easy to work on. like fleetsidebed5859 said, they will run forever too. when i first purchased my 51 and toyed with the notion of pulling the engine and replacing it with an 8, i thought my father in law was going to choke me out. he said no matter what, leave the 6. I'm glad i did. i love that engine. we just purchased a 50 deluxe with a 235 in it for my wife. now she has one too!!!!!!!
