I just put new king pins and bushings in the 1948 3600. When I greased them with a grease gun, the caps leaked and one cap came off/out! Yes, I staked each location in four places! I followed the procedures outlined in an orginal 48-53 GM shop manual reguarding king pin replacement.
Do these always leak? Is there a way to seal them and not have the caps come off?
