Hey Big bolters This is my first post and I've been following all of you and your big bolts for the last 6 months. Thanks for the help along the way. I've been struggling with what to do with my brake situation and I took a dive at installing a power brake set up. I purchased a 1/2 ton set up with pedal booster and corvette dual master cylinder. I was suprised that it bolted right up and required minimal cutting it the floor for pedal clearance. I installed a 10# pressure residual valve in both lines and bought adapter lines from Autozone and replaced the rear wheel cylinders, adjusted the brake pads and the system works great. the set up cost about 180.00 (Pedal ,Booster, master cylinder).
The only drawback is that the pressure residual valve for the rear takes a second or two to fully releas so there is a bit of drag after you press the brakes. I find it's getting better as i drive. I hope this answers a lot of questions about your brakes. Now I can't vouch for stopping power for a loaded truck , but I can say that I've locked up the tires several times with a light truck.
