Thanks for all of the ideas. Given how inexpensive line is at my FLAPS and I have the tools already, I'm going to give it a try. If it doesn't work to my satisfaction, I'll pony up and buy a pre-bent line.
I'm relieved to read that the fit and finish is good. The last thing I want is to spend money on junk.
As recommended, I'll slightly "over-buy" to make sure I get it right.
