My wiring was completely shot on my '48, so I am starting from scratch. Keep in mind it has a foot starter. While trying to re-wire the ignition switch, I used a tester to try to determine which terminal was which. But as I was testing, the only time I get a signal thru the switch is when I turn the thumb lever counter-clockwise. Isn't the conventional direction for an ignition switch clockwise? When I turn it clockwise the signal stops!
Also, I bought a couple of ballast resisitors, 1 for the ignition and 1 for the heater blower. They are 2 different brands. 1 reduces voltage to about 9 vt. The other shows 12 volts across both terminals. What am I missing?
