I have a 1951?? GMC 5 window Long bed. I have installed a 235 with a 3 speed tranny. I have had the truck for 10 yrs but just have started the whole project out again. My plans are to cut the chassis and bed to make it a short bed. Also i got my hands on a 2001 Trans Am rear end (complete) which is about 2" shorter than the original. Would you guys think this would be beneficial to the truck. would the brakes be ok if i continue to run the drums up front. i know i have to change out the master cylinder. What do you guys think?
