Yes, Your truck is equipped with GMC chassis, & running gear, like all Canadian built Chevrolet "Maple Leafs" were equipped with up until the "Maple Leaf" name was dropped with the 1952 model. Noticed in your photo link that the gvw is 18000lb.'s instead of 16000lb.'s as a U.S. built 2 ton model. I've got literature on a Canadian built 1949 Chevrolet "Maple Leaf" 1700 series 3 ton truck, that is pretty much spec.'d the same as yours. You have the same Clark 5000lb. front axle, & Eaton 16600lb. rear axle, as the GMC 450 series 3 ton COE, I recently sold. A comparable U.S. built '54 Chevrolet 2 ton, would have came only with a 4000lb. front axle, & 13000 lb. Timken rear axle. You have a very unique truck. I like it alot. So according to my info., i'd say it'd be safe to say you have a Heavy Duty 3 ton 1700 series.
