the diagram in your shop manual should have 2 ign sw views -
6 cyl switch ["view C" on the far left of the diagram, no "start" position] -
V8 switch ["view A" top right of the diagram,
with the start position] .... wire colors to the same places, but note there are 2 green wires from ign 2 on the V8 sw, one goes to the coil, one to the resistor with the other end of the resistor being the brown from the switch, there is no wire direct to the coil from the resistor - the way it works is the coil gets power direct from the battery when in "start", but via the resistor when in "run" .... there are a variety of switch terminal configurations around, some OEM, some repro, you need to work out how what you have fits the manual wiring diagram, you may have to add the 2nd green wire, although I'd expect to find it there cuz I don't think anyone repros the 6cyl switch
