Took the truck to a transmission guy. He suggested setting up the T-5 transmission with a rear mount and, as noted in a later thread, I fitted the T-5 with a rear transmission mount located in the crossmember just behind the stock transmission location. The T-5 rear mount crosses right over the stock location of the crossmember just forward of dead center of the crossmember, front to back, and it worked out to a great set up. Unfortunately, it didn't stop the grinding noise and we are still at square one with the noise barely there in third, more in fourth and very predominant in fifth gear. I'll get back with him this week and see what is next.
