Class of '60' here Ken, and I was twisting wrenches with dad the mechanic and big brother the hot rodder long before I hit high school. When I got my own cars I used Lubriplate for dang near anything, lots of military surplus lithium grease left over from the war. I used it as wheel bearing grease for many years without any problems and packed it into guns for u-joints and chassis jobs and again, never having a problem with any of them.
All told I'm probably still gonna keep on doin' just what I've been doing for a half century, that is, rolling over to the u-joints with the grease gun after I get the spring bushings.
For the last 20 years or so I'v been stocking up on Mystik lubricants from the Farm & Fleet stores out here. One is probably as good as the other it seems. The really important thing is that you do keep them lubed on a regular schedule.
Think this one's about run it's course don't you?
