I don't have any clue on the heater core, but am wondering why the 16lb cap. Wouldn't the pressure rating of the cap be determined by operating temperature characteristics of the engine. You might have a nice new radiator with a nice new cap, but unless something happened to the engine to make it run a whole lot warmer, the original rated cap would be the ticket.
